DON QUIXOTE

June 8th at 6pm, June 9th at 2pm and 6pm

Dear friends! We are happy to present you a new production performed by students of the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet – Don Quixote. It is the premiering ballet staged by the artistic director of ARCB Yanina Mikhaylyuk.
This Spanish-themed ballet is fun for the whole family, featuring toreadors, gypsies, and the young couple in love, Kitri, and Basile. Follow Don Quixote and Sancho Panza as they search for a noble adventure, leading to a band of gypsies, dreams and a surprising turn of events.
This comic-filled ballet includes beautiful sets and costumes, performed by the ARCB students and their parents.
Don Quixote is a ballet in two acts, based on episodes taken from the famous novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. It was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus and first presented by the Ballet of the Imperial Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow, Russia on 26 December 1869.
