ACADEMY

Welcome to the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet, a pre-professional ballet school located in the beautiful city of Redmond. Our mission is to provide top-tier classical ballet training to students of all ages, fostering their passion for this timeless art form.

Established in 2009, the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet (ARCB) proudly follows the renowned Vaganova curriculum, ensuring an exceptional level of ballet education. Through year-round ballet lessons, enriching summer intensives, annual master classes featuring internationally acclaimed guest teachers, we create an environment of artistic growth and excellence.

The Academy of Russian Classical Ballet provides numerous performance opportunities throughout the year, catering to students of all age groups. Among these events are the enchanting December presentation of “The Nutcracker,” a cherished traditional Christmas ballet, as well as the eagerly anticipated annual Spring Performance held in June.

Recently, during this past summer, we delighted audiences with a captivating brand new production titled “Harlequinade.” This charming ballet, performed in the delightful commedia dell’arte style, showcased the immense talent of our young and middle-aged students. Additionally, we proudly presented the world-renowned ballet masterpiece “Don Quixote,” featuring our exceptionally talented students from the middle and upper levels. The performance received widespread acclaim, showcasing the dedication and skill of our accomplished dancers.

Our esteemed faculty adheres to the Vaganova curriculum, offering a structured, scientifically grounded dance methodology combined with a holistic pedagogical approach. We take pride in our highly consecutive and competent technique system, widely recognized as one of the finest in the world. With this comprehensive foundation, our students can reach their utmost artistic potential.

Preserving the traditions of Vaganova, we are committed to delivering the highest quality education while fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere where our students can flourish as ballet artists and individuals.

For our young dancers aged three and a half to five, our beginning classes provide age-appropriate dance education, focusing on ballet vocabulary, posture, coordination, and memorization. As students progress to age six and beyond, they receive formal instruction in the Vaganova Method along with contemporary and modern lessons, enriching their dance repertoire.

Enrollment for Levels A and A* (Ages 3-6) is based on age, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for our youngest learners as they take their first steps in ballet. Registration for Levels B and above (Ages 7 and older) takes into account age, experience, performance, and ability. Students interested in these levels will undergo a trial class, followed by an evaluation by our Artistic Director. These advanced levels cater to students who wish to refine their ballet skills beyond the fundamentals. They will have the opportunity to enhance flexibility and master the intricacies of classical ballet steps and patterns.

The dedication and hard work of our students have earned them acceptance into esteemed international schools like The Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, and The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. Additionally, many of our talented students have received recognition at various Seattle YAGP regional competitions, receiving invitations to perform in the prestigious New York City Finals as soloists, Pas de Deux performers, and ensemble group members.

At the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet, we are passionate about sharing the beauty and discipline of ballet with aspiring dancers. Join us on this inspiring journey, where we nurture dreams and shape futures through the art of classical ballet.
