DON QUIXOTE

June 10-11, 2023

Dear friends!

We are happy to invite all of you to watch the ballet Don Quixote performed by the students of the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet. It is the ballet staged by the artistic director of ARCB, Yanina Mikhaylyuk, which premiered in 2019.

Don Quixote is a ballet in two acts, based on episodes taken from the famous novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. It was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus and first presented by the Ballet of the Imperial Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow, Russia, on December 26, 1869.

This Spanish-themed ballet is fun for the whole family, featuring toreadors, gypsies, and the young couple in love, Kitri and Basile. Follow Don Quixote and Sancho Panza as they search for a noble adventure, leading to a band of gypsies, dreams, and surprising events.

This comic-filled ballet includes beautiful sets and costumes performed by the ARCB students and their parents.
