Redmond Children Ballet Theater’s 4th annual magical, holiday Nutcracker celebration will be presented this December! Two days, December 14 and 15th, students of our ballet school will present four performances of Nutcracker, with original choreography by Artistic Director, Yanina Mikhaylyuk, Saint-Petersburg, at the Performing Arts Center at Redmond High School.
We are presenting an exclusive version of the traditional Christmas story. We did not try to copy the staging or choreography from different versions of the world renowned theaters. Only one dance in the second act – the Dance of Marzipan – is a tribute to tradition and sweet memories of my youth.
The original choreography offers opportunities for students of all ages and ballet levels to show off their skills. There is a place for both the beginning dancers and ballerinas, who were introduced to the dance in early childhood.
The parents roles in The party scene are performed by parents who share a passion for dance with their children. Some of them will participate in the Nutcracker for the third time and look like professional dancers on the stage.
