Summer Ballet Program 2024 July 8 – August 16

Registration is open now.

The Academy of Russian Classical Ballet welcomes all dancers to its annual Summer Ballet Program. Our six-week program, starting on July 8th and ending on August 16th, offers something for everyone!

The summer is a great time to gear your focus on ballet and make significant improvements to set you up for the season ahead! It is a wonderful opportunity to work on your ballet technique, which will be evaluated during the Nutcracker Auditions in September. As a result of taking part in our program, our students are able to not only maintain their ballet technique but push themselves and build endurance for future performances and competitions. Every year, I see tremendous improvement and a change in work ethic after our students spend their summers dedicating their time and effort to their art form.

Morning Intensive Program: Students ages nine and older (D, D*, E, F&G levels) are offered an Intensive Program in the morning. During this program, we have a variety of different classes, including ballet technique, pointe lessons, character lessons, stretching/conditioning classes, contemporary, etc. Students interested in participating in ballet competitions will begin their preparation during this program.

Five days a week, Monday through Friday

From 9:30 till 3:00 PM, five hours a day, including a 30-minute break.

All classes are based on the Vaganova method, including the best European traditions. Students will focus deeper on ballet, repertory, character dance, contemporary, and stretching.

Students who plan to compete on YAGP with solos or ensembles strongly recommend taking a minimum of three weeks of the summer intensive.

Intensive Program classes will include the following:

– Ballet Technique Classes
– Pointe (or Pre-Pointe) Practice
– Variations
– Character Dance
– Classical Repertoire
– Stretching/ Ballet Conditioning
– Contemporary
– Enrichment Classes

The detailed schedule of the summer intensive will be announced soon.

Evening Ongoing Classes: During the summer program, we will also continue to have regular classes in the evenings for the rest of our students (Levels A-G).

This program will be open to students of all levels. We are welcoming everyone who doesn’t want to stop dancing in the summer!
Ongoing ballet classes will help students maintain a healthy physique and form throughout the entire summer, preparing them for the Nutcracker Auditions in September.
Along with this, our primary goal for this summer is to help the students dive deeper into the heritage of classical ballet.
